Drain field replacement is the most invasive septic job a homeowner ever pays for, and it is also the one most often done wrong. When a Southwest Florida drain field fails, the water that should be slowly absorbing into the soil instead pools at the surface, backs up into the home, or saturates the yard. The only permanent fix is to pull the failed system out and put a properly sized, properly sited, county-permitted new system in.
